I am a strategist, researcher, and a well-seasoned project manager.
Calling California home for over a decade, I have family roots in Mississippi, Chicago, and New York. But mostly grew up in Atlanta, a bit in New Jersey, and partially in Bellevue (WA). Family experiences from an early age shaped my understanding of the interconnected reality of Black worker determination and food systems in this country.
My formal education contributes to my solid analytical and organizational foundation. I hold a Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree with community economic development and design and development concentrations, as well as a Food Studies Certificate at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. As well as a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies and Communication with a minor in entrepreneurship from Santa Clara University.
My continued education is in part from the wonderful minds I’ve met as a 2023 Weingart Foundation John Mack Fellow, a 2019 Switzer Environmental Fellow, 2016 Udall Scholar, and a 2016 Global Social Benefit Fellow at the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship. I believe a dual birds eye and snail eye view of projects, organizations, and movements is my super strength that enables me to ask the right questions, forge mutually beneficial partnerships, and ground my work in joy and dignity.
